Introduction

Ello everyone! It is me, GERMIN (also known as hypergermented, Xx_Germ_in_yo_xX, germingd, groov, germinyourass, GERMINXVEE etc etc) and welcome to my first Devlog.

If you're reading this in the future then you're either looking at this thinking
"wow, what a journey germin's made developing this BEAUTIFUL game"

No inbetween what-so-ever.
Then uhh hi for the FOURTH time I think.. I'm not sure. So as you might know (or not, i do not care) you perhaps have been roughly following the development of BATTLE among BUILDERS in Berneyvonbean's Discord server for a week now. (or you haven't, i really do not care).
But these "updates" I have made were prettyyyy rough and hasty. So I guess I should make a more structured thing, which is this. So yeah.
LET'S GET STARTED
What is Battle among Builders?
(Skip this if you actually know haha.)
OKAY... oookaayy.. let's just clear the elephant of the room. What is...

Battle among Builders isn't really a stand-alone game. It's more of a fan-game where it where some characters made in Ultimate Level Builder (the game this game is based off. game. game) are fighting characters here.
"FIGHTING CHARACTERS? Like in a FIGHTING GAME?
Yeah, what do you think the "Battle" in

stand for?
Now in this fighting games, not only are characters from ULB (abreviation of Ultimate Level Builder ) present, but also well known people (or well known people's Original Characters) inside the community. Where they BRUTALLY FIGHT TO DEATH IN A PLATFORMER FIGHTING GAME. WACHOWW. That pretty much sums up

What has Germin (handsome lad) added into the game?
Well.. so far i've added


- a Menu (with only the Play and Exit button working teehee)
- a Melee Combat system
- blood particle effects upon being hit (it looks like oil I KNOW)
- a health system
wow, that's not alot, jeez.

it's time to make promises. Promises i might regret in the future.
Well first of all, let's categorize the things i will DEFINITELY ADD right now if i had the opportunity and things i'll tackle on in the future
The important stuff
- The settings menu
- a ranged combat system
- KNOCKBACK YOU FUCKING BITCH GRRRR
- Multiple characters other than fireboy
- A proper roster room
- proper death and respawn
- a finisher blow idea
The important stuff (lesser)
- game modes
- sfx
- general effects (jump fx etc)
- multiple stages
- advanced enemy ai
- a more advanced combat system
Conclusion
I'll be super duper extremely honest with you, i have no clue on how to end this devlog. sooo... uhhhhh... yeahhhhh.....
